Applying Microsoft Security Guidance Hands-on Lab

IMG, together with Microsoft, is pleased to offer you a free 1-day security hands-on lab! This course will provide you with functional skills in planning and implementing infrastructure security that aligns with the Trustworthy Computing initiative. After completing these Hands-on Labs, you will leave with a familiarity of key security concepts and an understanding of how to configure, maintain, and manage Microsoft operating systems and applications more securely.

After completing the Security Hands-on Lab, students will be able to:

Implement Group Policy
Create and work with user accounts and security groups
Implement account policies and security templates
Implement security for Web services
Monitor events and intruder detection
Manage software and security updates

CWUG General Meeting

In this level 200 session we will cover the top ten (in our opinion) tricks to making Windows XP go faster, be more productive, and do cooler things then a normal install. This session will go over tweaks, utilities, changes that effect Windows XP is a positive manner. Topics will cover directories, single sign on, password management directory synchronization. This session will be led by Berbee.

Business Case Study #1. We will have 2 companies come in and talk about what they did to create a .Net based solution. In addition the Developer group will need to strategize on sessions for the next 6 months so we can put them together.
